Generations in the Workplace and Age Discrimination

Q Discussion Topic: In the text reading this week, and in the lecture, we are looking at the laws that protect employees from discrimination. One type of discrimination that is covered is discrimination based on an employee’s age. As older employees are now working longer than ever before, we find multiple generations in the workplace. This brings both challenges and benefits to management. Posted on this session (below) is a term paper that was written by one of my MBA students. The title is Various Generations in the Workplace and their Contributions to an Organization’s Culture by Emily Mullins. Read this paper and then post a discussion point based on the topic of generations in the workplace and age discrimination. Consider not only this paper, but also the text reading, lecture, and observations from work environments in which you have worked.?

In the modern day workplace, there are various generations working within the organization. Although there are several laws, rules, regulations and legislations available in order to protect all of the employees from any kind of discrimination within the workplace, still there is need of more policies (Boone James et al. 2013). In the provided paper, there has been a clear mention of how the age of the employee can be judged in the workplace.
